The tribe of Fatima bint al-Dahhak, a woman the Prophet ﷺ proposed marriage to in the 8th year of the Hijrah.
The Prophet ﷺ proposed to and married Fatima bint al-Dahhak of the tribe of Kulab. On the night he went in to her, she said, "I seek Allah's refuge from you." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "You have sought refuge in One who is very great. Go back to your family." He did not use the word "divorce". He used indirect language, known as kinaya, and that ended the marriage. It was never consummated. No one recorded why she said what she did. Ibn Hajar suggests she was mentally unwell. Others say jealous relatives had told her to say it, and she did not understand what it meant.
