Wait for me at the Hawd. I will be the one there before you come.
Said in du'a for the martyrs of Uhud, foremost among them his uncle Hamzah ibn Abdul Muttalib RA.
Toward the end of Safar in 11 AH, shortly before he fell ill, the Prophet ﷺ visited the site of the Battle of Uhud. There he made a special du'a (supplication) for the Muslims who had been killed in the battle. Foremost among those martyrs was his beloved uncle Hamzah ibn Abdul Muttalib RA. The Prophet ﷺ said to the martyrs, "Wait for me at the Hawd. I will be the one there before you come." The Hawd is the Prophet ﷺ's pool in the Hereafter.
Looking back, this was one of several signs that the Prophet ﷺ's death was near. By telling the martyrs he would meet them, he was indicating that he himself was about to depart for the next world.
