Al-Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib RA was the uncle of the Prophet ﷺ. Once, when someone irritated al-Abbas, the Prophet ﷺ gave a khutbah (sermon) in his defence. Speaking to the Muhajirun (the emigrants from Makkah) and the Ansar (the Muslims of Madinah), he said, "O Muhajirun and Ansar, verily, the uncle of a man is like his father. Do not irritate my uncle."
